Expert guidance for Labour Market Impact Assessments to support foreign worker hiring and permanent residency.
LMIA Program Services
A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job and that no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available to do the job.

For positions where the wage is at or above the median provincial/territorial hourly wage. Requires a comprehensive transition plan.
Low-Wage Stream
Essential Services
For positions below the median wage. Subject to caps on the proportion of low-wage foreign workers allowed per location.
PR Support
Dual Intent LMIA
Used to support a worker's application for permanent residency through Express Entry, providing 50 or 200 additional points.
